Thirty-three ladies of Boiling Springs High School participated in the annual Miss BSHS Class Beauties Scholarship Pageant on January 25th. The theme for this year’s pageant was "Diamonds" as the girls arrived on stage to dance an upbeat version of Diamonds by Rihanna for the opening number.The night was filled with entertainment as the girls running for Miss BSHS performed talent. Kali Hasselbacher, RaeAnn Cowles, and Caitlyn Duffy all showed their talent in singing; while Rachel Fuqua, Timiney Fowler, and Shavon Miller wowed the crowd with dance numbers. Special entertainment was performed by Miss Boiling Springs 2013, Caroline Fulton. Miss BSHS 2012, Megan Hairr, performed as well, dancing to Bad by Michael Jackson. During the evening wear competition, the ladies must exhibit grace, in all different styles of gowns. They were not only judged on their interview, but also judged on their poise and stage presence.The Miss Boiling Springs Pageant concluded with awards and crowning. Brooke Price was awarded Miss Photogenic for the second year in a row. Paige Hicks was crowned Miss Sophomore, followed by Sam Clarke as first runner up and Amber Mckellar as 2nd runner up. The Miss Junior title was awarded to Victoria Snow, with Taylor Burkholder as first runner up and Savannah Young as second runner up. Lastly, Morgan Duty was crowned Miss Senior and Caroline Sapier received first runner up. Jacosha Simpson took the award for Miss Congeniality and also 2nd runner up of Miss Senior.Miss BSHS was the final award of the evening. Rachel Fuqua won the talent competition, tap dancing a fun and technically difficult routine. Shavon Miller was the 1st runner up for Miss BSHS, followed by Caitlyn Duffy as Miss BSHS 2nd runner up. Rachel Fuqua was honored to be crowned Miss Boiling Springs High School 2014.Congratulations to Rachel and to all the beauties who participated. Win or lose, all of the girls shone bright like a diamond!
